This performance was created in London in 2022 for the company Act’in Theatre. Welcome aboard La Pâquerette, an “all-inclusive” cruise where nothing goes according to plan! Between a couple in the middle of a crisis, a competition winner determined to make the most of her red wristband, an obsessive Titanic fan, a chaotic hen party and a crew that is more overwhelmed than reassuring, the journey quickly descends into chaos. When the boat suddenly comes to a stop in the middle of the ocean, the passengers panic and everyone’s true personality begins to emerge. But the turbulence does not end there. At the family mansion of Marc, Marie-Chantal refuses to accept Stéphanie, her “common” daughter-in-law, and attempts to alter the family inheritance with the help of an unscrupulous lawyer. The arrival of a lingerie saleswoman with a shared past with several members of the family then causes all pretences to collapse. Two acts, two worlds and a colourful cast of characters come together in a fast-paced comedy about couples, family, privilege and the secrets that one would rather not have included in the journey. The evening continued with a French-language improvisation match. Guided by a referee, the improvisers competed on the wildest themes suggested by the audience, who were invited to support and defend their favourite team.
