Performed on 4 December 2019, “Crazy” explores madness in all its forms: crazy in love, crazy with anger, crazy with joy… or simply crazy. Through a series of sketches, the production takes the audience into very different worlds where, each time, the characters gradually lose control. It all begins with a father confronted with an incredible story involving suitcases filled with millions in jewellery and cash. When professional troubles become entangled with family matters, it only takes a few pieces of bad news for him to completely lose his mind. Madness then becomes a question of attitude with “La Cage aux Folles”, where a simple rusk and a stubbornly raised little finger lead to an improbable lesson in masculinity. Then comes the madness of the heart. In “Love Lasts Three Years”, two people swept away by passion attempt to put words to that state where love becomes so intense that it seems to overcome all reason. But madness can also take on a much darker form. With Anna, a character from Sallinger, we enter the fragile mind of a young woman losing her bearings, searching for those “essential lights” that she can no longer reach. Finally, “The Fools Who Dream”, an extract from La La Land, celebrates another form of madness: the one that drives us to dream, create, dare and see the world differently. Because sometimes a little madness is necessary to reveal new colours. Between comedy, absurdity, passion, fragility and dreams, Crazy explores the sometimes very fine line between reason and unreason. The performance continued with an improvisation cabaret by the Improzac, once again inviting the audience to step into the madness of play and spontaneity.
