The show

Performed on 23 June 2018, The Apple of Discord is a two-act production blending mythology, comedy and magic. In the first act, Dionysus organises the festival of the Lenaia on Mount Olympus, giving the gods the opportunity to come together and celebrate. However, the disappearance of nectar and ambrosia, while a terrible drought strikes the human world, soon disrupts the festivities. To lighten the mood, Dionysus unveils his latest creation: wine. But with tensions, jealousy, seduction, humiliation and manipulation taking centre stage, the gods’ banquet does not quite unfold as planned. Centuries later, in a small village, Monsieur Latruffe buys a piece of land believed to be cursed, where a mysterious vine with extraordinary properties grows. He quickly realises the value of his acquisition, without being able to imagine the consequences that this wine, gifted by the gods, will have on the villagers. An explosive comedy where the whims of the gods collide with human ambitions, and where everyone ultimately reaps what they sow.
