Performed on 2 July 2016 as part of Act'in Theatre, “Little Glasses at the Bar Counter” transports the audience into the cosy atmosphere of a small neighbourhood pub, where a young woman recounts her many mishaps to a landlord who is as attentive as he is fond of dispensing advice. As their conversation unfolds, the memories come to life on stage. Professional rivalries, romantic disappointments, unlikely encounters, everyday frustrations and wonderfully offbeat dreams follow one another in a series of funny, and at times delightfully absurd, scenes. Beneath the humour, the play invites us to reflect on the way we view our failures and the events that shape our lives. Could a bad experience ultimately change a life for the better? What if the true path to happiness simply lies in letting go of other people's expectations and finally becoming who we really are? A comedy full of twists and turns, colourful characters and genuine emotion, where every drink set upon the bar reveals another facet of life.
