Performed on 22 March 2022, “Une Famille en Or”, Entre Act’ #7 playfully twists the codes of the famous TV show Family Fortunes, transforming an apparently innocent family game into a true live on-stage chaos. On the set, two families compete in an attempt to win €100,000. On one side, the De Montoit family presents itself as a respectable and exemplary family: Jean-Paul, an authoritarian father and former runner-up in the Mister France competition for Creuse, his wife Sonia, whom he constantly tells to calm down, and their daughter Lucie, a teenager more concerned with her followers and videos than with the game itself. Opposite them, the Cabane family arrives with a completely different energy. Marta, the explosive mother of seven children, is accompanied by her son Diego, who is ready to do anything to win the “100 grand”, and Morgane, a particularly intelligent young woman whom they introduce as their cousin, even though she is not actually part of their family. From the very first round, unlikely answers, provocations and family tensions begin to pile up. Marta and Diego even attempt to cheat by sabotaging their opponents’ buzzer, while Lucie suggests that Morgane reveal the entire truth about the Cabane family live to her followers. But it is during the second round that the show truly spirals out of control. Asked to answer a series of questions spontaneously, Sonia uses the game as an opportunity to reveal that she has cheated on her husband with his own brother, that she regrets their marriage and that she wants a divorce. The supposedly perfect family then falls apart in front of the audience. A power cut finally shatters all remaining appearances. When the lights come back on, the presenter is covered in lipstick, Jean-Paul is in tears, Sonia is demanding her freedom, Lucie is already trying to create a new family with the host, and Marta and Diego have stolen the answer sheets for the game. Amid this disaster, Morgane ultimately remains the only contestant still standing. Although she belongs to neither family, she is declared the winner of the €100,000 so that the show can come to an end despite everything. A fast-paced and satirical comedy about family, appearances, television, social media and the obsession with success, where going live ends up revealing everything everyone would rather have kept secret.
