This show was created in 2024 and produced for the first time in London at the Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club on the 22 February 2024 by the company Act’in Theatre.
Everyone is familiar with the dramatic form of tragedy. Originating in Ancient Greece, it is characterised by the gravity of its language and an action leading to a fatal outcome for one or more of the characters.
We invite you to rediscover this genre in its noblest form: human relationships. From brotherly love and social position to jealousy and destruction, loneliness and despair, (re)discover scripts with tragic endings, performed by Act’in Theatre students and directed by Candice Desmet.
But tragedy isn’t just for the Greeks or modern literature! In the second half, join some lively performers for an improv’ cabaret that will add colour to all that tragedy! Sketches full of derision and good mood, with the public’s participation!
Directed by Candice Desmet.
Act I : Antigone, Sophocle, Act II : Médée, Euripide, Act III : Un de Baumugnes, Jean Giono
